Mobile telematics and logistics applications are based on the same technology: wireless data transfer, standardized data communications, distributed application environments, and service-oriented architectures. Data acquisition is gaining in importance all the time when it comes to the interaction between office/service applications and mobile applications. Clients and orders need to be managed, and work processes documented via the operating terminal. Moreover, safety-critical service applications are only feasible if items of information can be confirmed and released from a mobile system.
Task Controller architects based on ISO 11783 and vt-designer used to create control interfaces and Virtual Terminal object pools are a flexible development platform on which to design sustainable, mobile telematics and logistics applications.
